With the diversification of the development of tourism, mature of road network conditions and enhancement of people’s individual consciousness, DIY tour and self-driving tour are increasingly showing a booming trend. On the one hand, the new tourism mode innovate tourism form and content, on the other hand, it has also brought some potential safety hazard which the traditional tourism has not invovle, so tourists’demands on safety during self-driving become more and more obvious. Currently, domestic research on safety of self-driving tour is still at the initial stage, the paper is locking target on the self-driving tourists’safety cognition and behavior research, both as a try and supplement to tourism security, and it has strong practical significance. Therefore, the paper is taking self-driving tourists’safety consciousness and behavior factors of Zhengzhou city as study object sample, using the theory of behavioral science, statistics, psychology or related, and adopting the method of empirical analysis to study. Through the way of spot investigation and questionnaire survey, the paper gets a full picture of Zhengzhou city self-driving tourists safety situation, understands their safety consciousness and elements which influence behaviors, in order to provide theoretical reference to normative development of self-driving tourism market in Zhengzhou city, and at the same time, provide more scientific safety assurance to rising tourism.The paper takes the tourism safety research of domestic and overseas as the guide, defines the relevant concepts, and introduces the related theoretical basis. On the basis of face to face interview and questionnaire survey to self-driving tourists in Zhengzhou city, it adopts statistical methods to analyze collected original valid data. The paper also analyzes demographic characteristics、safety cognitive characteristics、behavioral characteristics of self-driving tourists, and proceed the factor analysis and correlation analysis with the aid of SPSS software. The analysis result shows: in the self-driving tour market of Zhengzhou city, main force are people with age from 18 to 40 years old, and account for 87% of total; Self-driving tourists prefer scenic region with convenient transportation, they pay most attention to food, accommodation, weather, scenic region security, etc., in the process of actual tour,60% of respondents choose to terminate the tourism activities in case of sudden accident, and 60% choose to call police in case of involving their own security problem; also it shows a positive correlation between the education level and the safety precautions before tour, and monthly income and safety precautions before tour are related, but it has no relationship with gender, age and occupation. Strong correlation exists between monthly income、education level and desire of preparing their own safety first aid equipment, but bot obvious correlation with gender and occupation. As a whole, self-driving tourist safety consciousness and behavior of Zhengzhou city are not optimistic. In the end, based on research result, the paper propose safety measurements for self-driving tourists of Zhengzhou city, to current key influential factor on safety, which means setting up safety insurance methods from view of government、enterprise and individuals. The author hopes it could provide theory basis and strategic reference for scientific、safety and sustainable development of self-driving tour in Zhengzhou city.
