The Mathematics curriculum has paid more attention to the development of the students and their qualities in Math, which is an obvious feature of the’High School Mathematics New Curriculum Standard’. Meanwhile, people have widely acknowledged and accepted the fact that we should put the mathematical methods and the basic knowledge in the same situation. Therefore, the method of combining the figure with chart, which is applied almost everywhere in the high school Math-teaching, is always seen as an important factor in learning and teaching. But there is few surveys based on the application of such method, most of which are targeted at the students, analyzing their levels in learning the method.The paper is based on the comprehensive analyses of the literature, displaying how the method is used in the textbooks. Then the author has done some investigation in the form of questionnaire and interview, which have applied the data from the high school teachers in Hubei Province to get a good understanding of to what extent they know, master or apply the method in teaching. According to the results, the author has discussed the reasons for the present situation, which can give positive thoughts and advises in the contemporary education. The author analyses the current teaching status for the method application in three steps, including the design, process and review of teaching.Through the questionnaire and interview, the author has drawn some conclusions:(1) most of the high school teachers have appreciated the theoretic values in teaching and learning, but few of them have used the method in practice; (2) there are gaps between the evaluation mechanism for teachers and the requirements of the’standard’; (3) there are more demands for the normal education, teachers’ training and self-learning to improve their mastery of the method.The paper has dealt with the problems in the application of combing the figure with chart, aiming to pay high emphases on it for the high school teachers. And if they can obtain the targets, there will be much progresses in the teaching efficiency as well as the learning capabilities in Math, which is also required by the new curriculum revolution.
