Research On The Relationship Between Sense Of Humor,Emotional Intelligence And Mental Health

Sense of humor is a positive psychological quality, the emphasis is individual perception and through the use of humor or ability to adapt to the characteristics of the environment, that is outside the input information for optimistic and positive reinterpretation, to help ease the emotional stress of individual, personal transformation cognitive and ideas, active in the face of changes in the environment. Emotional intelligence is the emotional information processing and handling ability or quality, emotional and individual perception, emotion regulation, emotional behavioral response capabilities and other aspects are closely related, but a sense of humor to play in the emotional information processing and handling of individuals a significant role. At the same time, the level of individual emotional intelligence and sense of humor level, individual changes in the surrounding environment, processing and handling process, maintain their mental health plays an important role, there is a subtle but important relationship between them. This study was designed to explore whether the mental health of college students will be affected by their emotional intelligence, sense of humor level, to provide new ideas and new ways to promote the upgrading of college students’ mental health.In this study, Guangxi Normal University, Guilin University of Technology, East China Normal University and other colleges and universities use of "Emotional Intelligence Scale," "pluralistic sense of humor questionnaire," "general mental health questionnaire" were used to measure the subjects’emotional intelligence level, sense of humor level,mental health level, got 450 valid questionnaires were tested. For the questionnaire measured data, mainly using SPSS20.0 and Lisrel8.7 structural equation model for data processing and analysis.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1) a sense of humor scores and each sub-scale score significantly different degrees of difference between different family sources of college students;but the sense of humor score and each sub-scale scores were not significant difference between different gender, grade, professional.(2) The emotional self regulation has significant difference between different grades,different gender,and in the emotional intelligence scores and other sub-scale scores did not exist significant differences between different grades,different gender;emotional perception scores,self emotion regulation score and total score of emotional intelligence has the significant difference between different professional,while the use of emotion regulation ability, regulate others’emotion score between different professional does not exist significant differences; emotional intelligence score and each sub-scale scores have no significant difference between different family sources.(3)self affirmation exists significant differences among different grades,and depression,anxiety,mental health scores between the different grades don’t exist;mental health score and sub-scale scores are significantly different degrees of difference between different family sources; mental health score and sub-scale scores has no significant difference between different gender,different professional.(4)there are pair wise significant correlations between College Students’sense of humor, emotional intelligence and mental health level.(5)college students’sense of humor on their mental health has significant predictive role, college students’sense of humor also has significant predictive effect on their emotional intelligence, emotion intelligence in the sense of humor predictor of psychological health plays a partial intermediary role.
