Along with the implementation of the one-child policy in 1979, Chinese society appeared a group of special crowd--only children. Since the birth of the one-child, caused the wide attention of scholars. And, as only children grow at different stages of development, the scholars’ research emphasis is different. At present, only children are beginning to or employment age has been reached, step by step into the orbit of employment, become the main force of the labor in our country. However, for the one-child relatively few research achievements of employment and career development.Since 2003, China began to implement the enrollment expansion of colleges and universities, higher education scale expands gradually., at the same time, the number of college graduates in the labour market, university students’ employment problems begin to highlight and its development, it has brought many influences to the society. Therefore, the problem of employment of college students by the attention of the government and academia. For college students of the group, however, the one-child university graduates employment problem has not been enough attention, related research is less. Only child’s employment problem, not only relates to one child policy is more related to the stability and development of the country.Based on existing research and social status, this study put forward the problem is that the one-child on-the-job graduate employment characteristics. And, based on the research questions and, put forward the general hypothesis of this study:the one-child on-the-job graduate employment characteristics with the one-child on-the-job compared to college graduates employment characteristics, has both same and different. According to the existing research results of this research job characteristics is divided into three levels, namely, employment environment, return characteristics of employment and employment characteristics of subjective perception. And employment at these levels of characteristic industry operation into employment, career development, employment unit, income and welfare, job satisfaction, career risk perception these dimensions, accordingly from the dimension of this a few specific six hypotheses are put forward.Based on graduation in 2003-2003 of in-service graduates as the research object, through to the Hangzhou, Changsha, Guilin, Chengdu four cities purposive sampling, and in the city of purposive sampling taken 2 random sampling method to select subjects. A total of 1200 questionnaires, the questionnaire is effective recycling questionnaire 1014, effective rate 84.5%. This study used survey method, and through the use of SPSS Statistics17.0 software for data collection and analysis, in the same age than the one-child on-the-job graduate as reference, comparing the one-child university graduates and the one-child characteristics of the employment of college graduates, in view of the research hypothesis, hypothesis test, respectively, the corresponding main research conclusions. The main conclusions are as follows:1. Only children with and without one-child university graduates employment environment exist significant differences.Whether the one-child on employed the industry of employment of college graduates and employment units have direct and indirect influences.2. Only children with and without one-child on-the-job graduate employment returns some difference.Only children and the one-child on-the-job graduate does not exist significant differences on the salary income. Two types of in-service graduates in welfare, namely the number of 5 insurances ginseng, significant differences on job-hopping number. One-child on-the-job the job-hopping number of college graduates may be less than the one-child in-service graduates. The ginseng of one-child on-the-job graduate number may be higher than the, one-child in-service graduates.3. The only children and the one-child on-the-job graduate employment subjective awareness does not exist significant difference.Only children and the one-child in-service graduates in job satisfaction and career risk awareness does not exist significant difference.Through the one-child on-the-job graduate employment characteristics of discussion and understanding, we will further thinking more related problems. Finally, it should be pointed out that, this research uses the method of quantitative research, in a one-child on-the-job graduate as reference, discusses the one-child on-the-job graduate employment problem. Because the research content is simple, the limitations of research methods and research conclusion there are still some limitations.
