But a large number of people which born of the fifty or sixty ’s of the last century, now has gradually entered the aging.that Remind the whole society pays a attention to the problem of population aging, and how to solve the pension problem.With the rapid development of the economy, families income become more and more, many families choose to send the old people into professional pension institutions. pension institutions not only save the families’ time,and more professional, more comfort.Pension institutions is an important choice for the old people.However, the pension institutions in our country is in a stage of development, the scale is relatively small, the professional is not strong.Pension institutions is to provide more concerned about old people in the material needs, the less concerned about old people in the mental health. After the old people retirement, their social status has changed a lots. his circle of friends is no longe associating frequently, the old people often doubt themselves lose value. And their children were often busy about work,or need to take care of the next generation and the life stress and other reasons, the old people is also lack of spiritual care. This has resulted in the pension institutions, the old people’s mental health status is poor, the majority of the old people suffering from mental illness, such as: depression, hypochondria, autism and so on. the social work use the advanced theoretical knowledge, the professional practical experience, provide intervention services to the old people who were in the pension institutions,expanding their social support system, solving the psychological problems of the old people.In this paper, by using the professional theories and methods of social work, to providing service of social work for the X Pension institutions in shenyang. analysis of the actual situation with the client,Identify problems and solve the problem.And based in these cases, analysis of the main mental problems of the old people who was in the pension institutions. And incorporating a large number of data, through the professional knowledge of social work to summed up the reasons of the old people who has trouble in the mental health.and finally puts forward some suggestions about how to use social work intervention pension institutions to improving the mental health of the elderly.
