The cultivation of moral and self-discipline quality of college students is a crucial task of national ideological education and at the same time the pursuit of modern social and moral construction. It can enrich and improve theoretical research of college ideological education. In addition, it can promote college students` formation of good moral character, compensate colleges` lacking of moral education and construct harmonious campus. It is only when college students foster the quality of self-discipline that college ideological education can reach the goal of “Li De Shu Ren”. Because morality and self-discipline can help students legislating for themselves, transforming external morality into inner moral demands and into ethical practice and constraining personal behavior voluntarily. Therefore, this thesis is primarily focus on developing moral and self-discipline quality of college students and analyzing its present situation. The thesis is combined with the mechanism of developing morality and self-discipline, finding out the reason for the occurrence of relevant problems in accordance to related principles. Then, this thesis will provide sound solutions and methods to concrete issues.This thesis is divided into introduction and three chapters, which are intended to investigate moral and self-discipline quality of college students.Introduction is about the aim and significance of this research, domestic studies and studies abroad and researching methods. The first chapter is theoretical framework, which is the discussion of related theories as morality and self-discipline, the implicature of developing the quality of morality and self-discipline for college students, the psychological mechanism for developing moral and self-discipline of college students and other theories, which explains Psychological mechanism includes the respect of morality, self-legislation, reasonable regulation of moral emotions and the development of moral willpower and self-control. And Confucian ideas of “self-supervision”, Kant’s theory of self-discipline and moral self-discipline of Marx and Engels thoughts as the theoretical support of the article. The second chapter is the core of this thesis. The author checked out related material and data, generalized present moral and self-discipline conditions of college students. The thesis draw the conclusion that most of college students have strong capacity of self-discipline. Then, this thesis makes reference of present condition and analyzes in-depth for the related issues that come into being. The third chapter is the key chapter, mainly investigate the principle of developing the quality of morality and self-discipline for college students, in the form of correctness and acceptability. In principle, should be in accordance with the principle of systemic and internality. In this chapter, the author also discuss how college students foster the quality of morality and self-discipline. Through inner cultivation and the improvement of external educational environment, this thesis summarizes previous researches and put forward newly established viewpoints based on previous studies, which help college students developing moral and self-discipline through multiple ways.
