Learning interest is a kind of mental station produced by the interaction between individual and environment. As an important non-intelligence factor, it plays an important role in students’ academic development. But studies found that, with the increasing of age, the students’ learning interest for almost all the subjects was declining, especially for mathematics in primary and secondary school. In view of this, it has become the focus of attention to explore the development characteristic of primary and secondary students’ mathematics learning interest in our country. Meanwhile, the development systems theory believes that the key to achieve the development of advantaged qualities is to build a good supporting connection between individual and situation. Teachers as an important developmental resource for classroom situation, their supportive behaviors have an important effect on the students’ interest in learning. And achievement goal as a factor which connect students’ personality traits and interest most closely leads to students’ different cognitive, emotion and behavior performance. Therefore, it’s full of important value to put teacher support and achievement goal together to discuss the relationship between learning interest and the two factors. On this basis, 937 primary and secondary school students in Heilongjiang Province were measured by a series of questionnaires to explore the development characteristics of primary and secondary school students’ mathematics learning interest. And based on this, the research discussed the relationship between teacher support, achievement goal orientation and primary and secondary school students’ mathematics learning interest. Meanwhile, this study adopted the combination of questionnaire and classroom observation in order to explore further how the teacher support behavior affects students’ long-term learning interest through the satisfaction of the students’ basic psychological needs. According to the above research, the results were as follow:Firstly, the level of primary and secondary students’ mathematics learning interest showed the changing trend of increasing first and then decreasing in grade stage. And Grade Six was a turning point in the development of learning interest. After junior high school, the decreasing degree was more obvious.Secondly, on the sexual characteristics, it showed the boys’ learning interest was better than that of girls. Besides, it showed different development speed in different grade stage between boys and girls. Contrast to boys, the level of girls’ learning interest was unstable after junior high school.Thirdly, primary and secondary school students’ mathematics learning interest had a close relationship with teacher support and achievement goal orientation. In addition, there exists a significant interaction between the teacher support and task avoidance goal on mathematics learning interest.Fourthly, students with high mastery goal orientation could have a best development of mathematics learning interest in the classroom with higher level of teacher support.Lastly, the teacher support behaviors would have an effect on the primary and secondary school students’ mathematics learning interest through the satisfaction of students’ basic psychological needs.
