Since China’s reform and opening up, English education in China has been promoting constantly and has made significant results. However, the current situation of English education cannot meet the requirements fully. Current primary school English course in the teaching rather use too much mechanized ways to train to recite and remember knowledge but the inner understanding of language. Meanwhile teaching without the real situation also made the students unable to migrate language in a real situation on the basis of understanding. As booming integration of information technology and curriculum, the emergence of electronic schoolbag has become a powerful impetus to education reform,electronic schoolbag can provide primary school English classroom with platform. The electronic schoolbag, however, owing to the old teaching conception and method, hindered the full realization of the new teaching media. The global has been emphasizing the theory of "Teaching for understanding", regarding "promote understanding" as the core value.Teaching for understanding can change the teaching comception and teaching method,providing theoretical support for the class and application of electronic schoolbag, helping primary school English teaching from "Mechanization" to "Understanding".In this study, according to the situation of English Teaching and electronic schoolbag,combining with the theory of “Teaching for understanding”, according to the principles and steps of the experimental research method, combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods to carry out the experimental study of primary school English teaching with electronic schoolbag based on the theory of “Teaching for understanding”. In the aspect of theory, according to the mode of instructional design for understanding Wikins put forward to promote understanding of the reverse design and Professor Chen Mingxuan’s design of teaching method, I designed the strategies of primary school English teaching with electronic schoolbag based on the theory of “Teaching for understanding”; in the aspect of experiment, I designed the experiment in order to verify the feasibility and validity of the strategies. I selected the experimental class and the control class to carry out the experimental research.The experimental study shows that the strategies of primary school English teaching with electronic schoolbag based on the theory of “Teaching for understanding”: in the aspect of interest and motivation, the strategies can improve the students’ interest in learning English, change the mechanical teaching methods, stimulate the desire of understanding; in the aspect of language understanding, the strategies can help students internalize knowledge through connecting between the old and the new knowledge of the language, promote understanding reaching a higher level, and migrate in the different situations flexibly; in theaspect of teachers, the teachers combined the theory of “Teaching for understanding” with the primary school English electronic schoolbag and changed the teaching conception,adjust the teaching mode of English curriculum, realized the teaching value of electronic schoolbag, combined the electronic schoolbag with new teaching conception, enhanced the depth and breadth of classroom teaching.
