Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory emphasizes dynamic and many needs about people as the main content. Hierarchy of needs theory in attention to people’s survival and comprehensive development and to front-line teachers and education workers provided theoretical guidance. Junior middle school thought moral character of teachers focus on the application of humanism thought and exploration, in the work hierarchy of needs theory is helpful to increase the effectiveness of the ideological and moral teaching,outlook on life and values for junior high school students actively guide to build a warm and caring atmosphere.In this paper, the writer combined with the actual situation of the first year students, understand students in the face of the new environment,teachers and students related situation, based on the theory of hierarchy of needs in the first application has its unique significance in moral character teaching. This article discussed from three aspects, the first part from the introduction to the hierarchy of needs theory, discuss and analyze the content and characteristics of hierarchy of needs theory. Because now is in the line of teachers of junior middle school thought moral character is not enough in-depth, and understanding of hierarchy of needs theory still exist many problems in the understanding and application, this part discusses application of the theory of hierarchy of needs for teachers to provide the theoretical guidance. The second part in view of the hierarchy of needs theory guiding significance to the teaching of moral character at the beginning of discussion,the application of it to meet the needs of students at all levels, to respect students’ subjectivity, is helpful to optimize the effect of classroom teaching,is conducive to establishing good relationship between teachers and students and finally advantageous to realize the teaching goal of moral character. The third part is according to the hierarchy of needs theory in the teaching of ideology and moral character at the beginning of study, through the analysisof learners, teaching materials, etc, arrangement of teaching content and put forward teaching Suggestions, and to "cherish the priceless self-esteem" lesson as an example, according to the actual effect of the classroom,discussing how to using the hierarchy of needs theory, discusses the feasible measures to solve the problem.The Junior student in a critical period of mental and physical development, the leading edge of the ideological and moral teachers in junior middle school moral education training, in the process of application of the theory of hierarchy of needs, teachers should understand students’ learning and the need of psychological pressure, help students better into junior high school life. Specifically, the hierarchy of needs theory can help alleviate the freshmen to campus of newly enrolled new environmental concerns, fears of a new friendship between classmates, the pressure on whether can live in harmony between teachers and students, to guide the student to become adults,and meet the needs of the students self-realization, the purpose is make the relationship between teachers and students become better and guide students full development.
