The Relationship Between Psychological Resilience And Personality Characteristics Of Impoverished Medical Undergraduates In Guizhou

Objective: To understand the status quo of personality characteristics and the resilience scale of university students, then analyze the relations between the them. Provide scientific basis for department of medical colleges formulating policies and measures to improve the Resilience Scale of University Students(RSUS). Methods: Random draw six sample majors according to grade of there medical colleges in guizhou province, each major draw one class.then conduct a questionnaire survey,the content of the questionnaire are the Resilience Scale of University Students(RSUS) and Cattell Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire(16PF).There are 1940 students participating in the questionnaire,and 444 of them are impoverished medical undergraduates. Results: The mental resilience score of impoverished medical undergraduates is 103.54±11.16.The stability dimension score is higher than other dimension compared with other medical undergraduates.There are statistically significant differences in self-acceptance, self-efficacy, friend support, family support and total psychological resilience(P<0.05).There are statistically significant differences in self-acceptance, self-efficacy, stability, and problem solving by gender(P<0.05). There is statistically significant differences in family support by nation(P<0.05). There are statistically significant differences in friend support, family support by grade(P<0.05).Impoverished college students’ mental resilience can be divided into two types: the strong type and weak type.The score of skeptical, anxiety, independence and tension factor of the strong type are lower than the weak type, the score of other factors are higher, and There are statistically significant differences in excitability, persistence, anxiety, and independence(P<0.05). There is no statistically significant differences,in the other personality factors(P>0.05).Impoverished medicalundergraduates’ s personality characteristic is in the average. The score of impoverished medical undergraduates in sensitivity, vigilance, sophistication, anxiety and tension are higher than others,and other factors’ score is lower. There are statistically significant differences in stability,persistence and anxiety(P<0.05). There is no statistically significant differences in the other factors(P>0.05).K-means cluster analysis shows that impoverished medical undergraduates’ personality traits can be divided into four categories. There are 112 people of the first type, accounting for 25.23%; 88 people of the second type, accounting for 19.82%; 119 people of the third type, accounting for 26.80%; 125 people of the fourth type, accounting for 28.15%.Correlation analysis showed that there is a close relationship in conscientions, boldness,impulsivity, stability, empathic, and anxiety of impoverished college students’ personality traits.It is positive correlation in conscientions,boldness,impulsivity,stability,empathic and negative correlation in anxiety. Multiple linear regression analysis shows that impoverished medical undergraduates’ mental resilience influenced by persistence and stability.It is positive correlation inconscientions and stability(βs=1.145 、 Pp=0.001, βs=1.109 、 Pp=0.023). Conclusion: Impoverished medical undergraduates’ s psychological resilience is in good level, There are statistically significant differences in self-acceptance, self-efficacy, stability, and problem solving by gender. There is statistically significant differences in family support by nation. There are statistically significant differences in friend support, family support by grade.Impoverished medical undergraduates’ mental resilience can be divided into two types: the strong type and weak type.Impoverished medical undergraduates’ personality characteristics is in medium level, the most prominent of impoverished medical undergraduates’ are personality characteristics by high level of anxiety, and low of stability and conscientions.Impoverished medical undergraduates’ personality traits can be divided into four categories. The third type and the fourth type accounted for the most significant proportion.It is the key point education of medical undergraduates and universities about personality traits. It is different of personality, and we should adopt the personalized education mode. There is a close relationship in impoverished medical undergraduates’ personality traits. The score ofpsychological resilience is affected by inconscientions and stability. Inconscientions and stability can predict psychological resilience level to some extent. Therefore, we should focus on the characteristics of impoverished medical undergraduates’ personality, strengthen their personality education, and shape healthy personality.
