The Design And Development Of It Elective Curriculum In High School

Every revolution about IT curriculum in high school is closely related with the development of information technology. Setting IT elective courses in high school is the important development trend of IT course to adapt for the needs of social and students’ developments. In order to meet these needs,《Standard of Technology Course in High School(Experiment)》(2003) pointed out five elective modules with the design ideas as " paying attention to the grasp of technical depth and breadth, showing progress in frontier, and paying attention to the expression of technology culture and information culture idea, reflecting the basic and times of course content choice ". However, in the face of the teaching difficulty of the existing five elective modules and emerging information technologies, it is the important issue that how to choose、design、and develop the new IT elective course which can meet the needs of social development and personnel training.Based on the literatures, we analyze the contents of 98 IT elective courses in Zhejiang high school from the four aspects: the process of information movement、four classification of elective course、the core technology, and summarize the IT elective curriculum development situation from the three aspects: the structure of curriculum, developers, the curriculum resources, etc., and propose the advantages and the existing problems. Further, we propose some suggestions in the aspects of idea, development, resources and teaching of IT elective course in high school. According to the suggestions, we propose how to design and develop a IT elective course, in 3D printing as an example, to design a elective course, including the curriculum meaning、nature、ideas、goal、content、learning activities、evaluation and learning resources. Finally, two demos of 3D printing to show how to perform the course.
