Domestic violence is a widespread social problem that exists in human society since ancient times, but due to the influence of traditional culture and the limitations of human knowledge, this problem is not highly addressed by the society. However, with the rise of humanism and the awakening of human rights, the problem of domestic violence began to step into people’s sight, more and more experts and scholars took this issue seriously. Currently, more than 40 countries and regions in the world that have enacted relevant laws against domestic violence and many scholars have carried out more extensive research on the problem of domestic violence. After the issue of domestic violence has begun to enter the public eye, many experts and scholars in different fields get involved in exploring the theoretical and practical reasons behind this, particularly in the areas of social work practice, a considerable degree of developments have been achieved overseas. The social work in our country is just emerging; therefore the existing researches on domestic violence stay in a more macro level, very few of them are microscopic with practical guidance. In practice, the research and studies of social work in this area seems slightly macro, although the three methods have been took into consideration by most of the studies, the content may not work in practice.A number of psychological and sociological theories have been used to analyze the domestic violence in this article, using semi-structured interviews and observation to get the battered women’s information and assess their needs. In this article, a work plan for a group to serve battered women will be developed. This work plan is based on Empowerment theory and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory and aim to give delegate power to battered women, then analyze and evaluate the needs of battered women to design a progressive group activities according to their needs. Specifically, the group activities mainly involved in playing games to keep fun and maintain the interests of the group member in the early stage of the activities. The purpose of this group work aims to improve the current situation of all team members, however one of the shortcomings of the group work is to focus on the characteristics of the group as a whole, thus the individual needs of each team member may not be considered, and this requires supplements from other working methods.
