Generally junior students refer to the students studying in junior middle school, and this period is deemed as early adolescence stage, which is the critical time for them to form their outlook on the world, life and values. As the junior students can be regarded as the important foundation for a country’s future development, the assessment of their legal qualities is significant in the sense of both individual and social development. Assessment on students’legal qualities is not only the key measure to improve their legal qualities, but also a guarantee of the legal education quality in middle school. However, in the establishment of education evaluation system for primary & junior school, little attention is invested to legal qualities evaluation of junior students.In this thesis, the current status of legal qualities evaluation system in 4 junior middle schools in Wuhan city is analyzed, and the confinement factors in the implementation of the evaluation system of junior students’legal qualities are discussed. Meanwhile, optimization methods for establishment of the evaluation system of junior students’legal qualities are put forward based on the theories of multiple intelligence and development evaluation.Apart from the introduction, there are three parts in this thesis.Part One:Theoretical base for establishment of evaluation system of junior students’ legal qualities. This chapter mainly focuses on the illustration of multiple intelligence and development evaluation theories, which lays the theoretical foundation for establishing the evaluation system of junior students’legal qualities.Part Two:Analyze the current status of evaluation system of junior students’legal qualities. With means of interview, questionnaires etc., two major problems are found existing in the evaluation system in the four junior schools in Wuhan. Firstly, there is no independent legal qualities evaluation system in schools; secondly, the evaluation objective is indefinite, and other problems such as single evaluation body, one-sided evaluation content, and over-simple evaluation methods are also discovered. This chapter discusses the reasons for the missing of evaluation system of junior students’legal qualities by analyzing the problems mentioned above, which includes low legal qualities awareness of citizens, the obscure relation between the evaluation on students’morality and legal qualities, heavy touch of utilitarianism in the background of exam-oriented education, as well as assessor’s indistinct definition of the connotation of legal qualities.Part Three:Methods for utilizing the evaluation system of junior students’legal qualities. This chapter puts forward utilizing ideas for objectives, content, evaluation body, methods, standards and regulations of evaluation system from the angle of multiple intelligence and development evaluation theories.
