The informatization of education is the hottest direction in the field of education research now, and the question about how to combine the education with information technology better has put forward the new requirements for every education researchers. Network Learning Community as a new model of learning has gradually drawn the attention of a large number of teachers and students, and this study was conducted to explore the application of network learning community for correspondence. This study is based on the actual situation of the current correspondence teaching and the actual demand. On the basis of the related surveys, interviews and other researches, this study which combines the theory of Constructivism and other learning theories, the advantages of Sakai platform and the basic elements of network learning community designed the related structure and teaching models for the network learning community of correspondence, customized the relevant tools of Sakai platform and built the correspondence learning community based on Sakai. In this study, we select some students as a sample to carry out teaching practice in the course multimedia technology, and take methods of interview and questionnaire survey to verify the effect of the construction of learning community. The results of the research shows that the Sakai platform can provide good technical support to the construction of the network learning community, in some extent, motivate the participants’ learning enthusiasm, change the traditional correspondence teaching mode of communication between teachers and students, increase the communication among learners and benefit to their course learning.
