Scientific method is an important part of scientific literacy. Scientific methods education is an important way for students to acquire scientific knowledge, cultivate the spirit of inquiry. The new curriculum reform highlights the importance of scientific method education. The three-dimensional targets of the chemistry curriculum standards contain "process and method" and emphasize cultivating learning methods. The process and method can be a single subject to explore the process and to explore the method, be the process in order to achieve the teaching goal, also be the process of discovering problems, analyzing and solving problems. The scientific method is different from knowledge. Knowledge is related to the material world, the scientific method involves ways and means to meet the material world. The scientific method is abstract. That is why the scientific method cannot be expressed directly. Compared with the concepts, definitions, formulas, etc., its expression is covert. According to the characteristic of every research object, Building methods conforming to characteristic is the unique working methods and thinking methods. It is very important to give full expression to scientific knowledge from the perceptual process to the rational process. Students should be taught by scientific methods education according to the chemistry curriculum standards and are supposed to apply it on usual study life.This paper is divided into four parts. The first part explains the meaning of scientific method education. The second part introduces the core concepts and principles of the scientific method. The third part of this paper shows some common chemical scientific method and analyze the cases combining with content of courses. The results of the questionnaire survey are showed in the fourth part of this paper. We are getting to know the current situation of junior high school chemical scientific method education and discover the questions and deficiencies of chemical scientific methods in chemistry classroom. Looking forward to understand the influence of different regions, the investigation is conducted in both rural schools and urban middle schools. We come to conclusions based on the questionnaire survey and analysis. (1) Students in junior high school use chemistry scientific method at a lower level. (2) Compared to the students in rural middle school, the students in city middle school master chemistry scientific method well. (3) Most of the students think it is necessary to accept scientific method education. (4) Teachers can teach students using scientific method consciously, but they are conservative. (5) The teacher’s teaching behaviors have important effects on the cognitive level of students. The fifth part, according to the results of investigation and analysis, put forward five junior high school chemistry teaching countermeasure of scientific method education.The scientific method is a powerful tool to cultivate students’basic abilities.It’s the key factor to improve students’ scientific literacy and to ensure the sustainable development of the students. Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach him to fish, he will never go hungry. To strengthen scientific method education is the only way which must be passed for the cultivation of students in the new century. The scientific method education has long-term and arduous characteristics, but worth the teachers’ efforts definitely.
