Writing teaching is always a tough challenge in Chinese teaching, confronted by many Chinese teachers for years. Compared with reading teaching, writing teaching needs more time to produce the desirable result, and it is also affected by the traditional writing assessment, the lack of writing textbook and the inappropriate teaching arrangement. Due to these reasons, Chinese teachers’ endeavors in writing teaching bring little achievements. What’s worse, many defects appear in students’writing under such circumstance, of which the absence of their true feeling, the mendacious content and the empty verbiage throughout the article are the severest. The mendacity of students’ writing does harm not only to the true expression of their inner world, but also to their integrity and sincerity. Based on teaching practice, the author of this thesis analyzes the reasons of the mendacity of students’writing through the analysis of questionnaire survey, and puts forward the solving strategies in order to provide guidance to writing teaching and achieve the truthfulness in students’writing.This thesis is divided into four chapters.Chapter one is an overview of the pursuit of truth in writing teaching, composed of two sections. The first section puts forward a standard of truthfulness in writing; the second section demonstrates the theory foundation of the truth pursuit in writing teaching from the aspects of "honesty pursuit" theory, life education theory and "green writing" theory.Chapter two is the analysis of the questionnaire survey in a high school. The author discusses the reasons of the mendacious students’writing from the perspectives of teacher, student, textbook and social circumstance.Chapter three, basing on the chapter two, proposes the strategies of truth pursuit in writing teaching from the following aspects:student, teacher and assessment.Chapter four projects a teaching design of the truth pursuit in writing to certify the feasibility of the strategies proposed in chapter four.In the end comes to the conclusion. The author of this thesis emphasizes the importance of the truth pursuit in students’ writing and expects of the truth pursuit of teaching in the future.
