As the base of elementary education, the quality of preschool education relatesdirectly to the development of children in the future. Since1990s, the MontessoriEducation has grown up rapidly. However, due to the impact of economic and socialsituation, and the differences of historic culture and educational ideology betweenChina and western countries, there are some problems in Montessori Education ofkindergarten in China. And, to some extent, only these problems are solved, theMontessori Education will develop steadily and benefit the children and nation ofChina.Therefore, the paper makes some investigation and research on MontessoriEducation in kindergarten of Zhifu district, Yantai City, China. According to theinvestigation,76.12%of the children enjoy the courses of Montessori Education;64.18%ones become very excited after the courses, and often look back upon them.These data show that the Child-Centred principle advocated by Montessori Educationowns strong vitality and prospect. Meanwhile, the investigation also shows someproblems in areas of educational concept, teaching organization and teacher allocation,for instance, some teachers are overly dependent on teaching appliance and lack ofteaching instructions, some ones persist in the traditional forms of class and have nopractice in mixed-age education; some kindergartens are short of qualified teachers,further education resources, ways of communication between kindergarten and thechildren’s families, indigenous research, and innovation of educational practice.For the above problems, some countermeasures will be suggested in MontessoriEducation of kindergarten in this paper. Firstly, showing the essence of Montessorieducation in teaching practice; secondly, making an attempt on mixed-age education;thirdly, setting up an excellent team of teaching staff in quality and quantity; fourthly,letting the parents of children become the Advisor of Montessori Education; fifthly,strengthening the indigenous research and innovation of educational practice.Through the above countermeasures, we can make good use of Montessori Educationand improve it, which will contribute to the preschool education of China.
