| Training junior high school students’ applied consciousness as well as improving thestudents’ application ability has become an important issue in the modern mathematicsquality-oriented education. In the process of teaching, mathematical word-problem, as animportant hub that connects mathematics theory and real life, plays an important role incultivating the students’ mathematical thinking and applying mathematics knowledge to solveactual problems. However, some problems existing in the teaching and learning, limit theimprovement of students’ application ability.In order to further understand the junior middle school mathematics teaching situation,especially the teaching of applied problems, this paper takes Nanliu Middle School in Fangzi,Weifang as the pilot, doing some questionnaire surveys and interviews to front line mathteachers and some students. From the two aspects of teachers and students, the conclusionsare as follows:For teachers, the following deficiencies are:1) the understanding of the teachers toenhance students’ application ability needs to be improved;2) the methods and measures tocultivate students’ application ability need to be strengthened;3) some old-fashioned materialand questions are selected;4) the teaching methods are unitary, and mathematics thoughts arenot enough.For students, the following deficiencies are:1) basic knowledge is not well mastered;2)mathematical thoughts and methods are not enough;3) some students have the mathematicalapplied problem learning psychological barriers;4) life experience is lacking and applicationconsciousness is weak;5) reading ability is poor and are unable to understand the applicationproblem correctly.According to the research results above, combining with their own junior middle schoolmathematics classroom practice, this article puts forward the following teaching strategies:First, pay attention to attaching the problem with the actual reality; Second, pay attention tothe infiltration of principles and thoughts; Third, pay attention to the link of selectingquestions; Fourth, focus on cultivating student’s mathematics application consciousness; Fifth,strengthen the training of the basic knowledge and basic skills; Sixth, eliminate students’psychological barriers and improve the students’ confidence in solving the word-problem; Seventh, strengthen reading comprehension training and improve the cognitive level; Eighth,optimize teaching method; Ninth, improve in the reflection constantly.Practice results show that different project use different teaching strategies, whichrequires teachers in classroom teaching use the corresponding teaching strategies flexiblyaccording to specific problems, and improve the students’ ability of application throughtraining. |
