Self-esteem is the core of self emotional experience, it is also an important part ofthe children’s social development. High quality level of self-esteem can lay a goodfoundation for children’s growth. The family is the main place for children’s socialization.Father, which is the core of the family, plays an important role on the development ofchildren’s self-esteem. I plan to select60children and their fathers as the subjects, whichare a total of128children and the fathers for the participants, after rejecting invalidquestionnaire, Using the questionnaire survey,the current situation of FatherInvolvement,the feature of the self-esteem of preschool children, and the effects offather involvement on the children’s self-esteem.The conclusions were followed that:1. On the whole father takes more time with children.2. Father Involvement contains four factors: encouragement and praise; attentivenessand looking after; regulation; support and planning. Among the four factors, the mostfrequent activity father got involved in was Attentiveness and looking after, and then:support and planning and encouragement and praise, and the last one was regulation.3. On the children’s self-esteem development level, there are no differences in familystructure; on family income level, there are significant differences between high incomefamilies and low income families in children’s self-esteem, and high income familychildren’s self-esteem level higher than that of young children’s self-esteem level oflow-income families, thus, family economic income will affect children’s self-esteemlevel; there are no differences on his father’s cultural degree level.4. On the total score of self-esteem, there are significant difference in the grade. asharp significance exists in grade indicating small and large children’s self-esteem levelhave significant differences, and along with the grade children’s self-esteem scores rise;In total, children’s gender main effect was not significant; there were interactionsbetween sex and grade in the children’s self-esteem, moreover, The same gender children’s self-esteem of different grades is studied, the results show that the girl’sself-esteem level has significant grade differences, increasing self-esteem level alongwith the rise of grade, the boy’s self-esteem level, there is no grade differences.5. Each part of father involvement relevant to children’s self-esteem. The thirddimension have influenced the self-esteem most, and then: support and planning andencouragement and praise, attentiveness and looking after, the last one was regulation.The third dimension of support and planning has extremely significant effects on youngchildren’s self-esteem, the more support and planning from fathers, the higher level ofyoung children’s self-esteem development.6. Correlation analysis concerning every dimension of father involvement andchildren’s self-esteem was conducted. The analysis of the results showed that the firstpart of self-esteem significantly positively correlated with the second and the third partof father involvement. the first part of self-esteem don’t show significant correlation withthe first and the forth part of father involvement. the second part of self-esteemsignificantly positively correlated with every part of father involvement. the third part ofself-esteem significantly positively correlated with every part of father involvement.
