In recent years, the work of the improving junior high school physicstextbooks continues to be pushed forward under the background of "onetextbook for one outline","many textbooks for one outlines", and "manytextbooks for one standard" in the curriculum standard process.According to curriculum standards, it is important for the student to studythe regularity and characteristic of the textbook. Further more,it is ofgreat importance to choose and use a textbook for students from a numberof different versions of textbooks in the market. In this paper, from the curriculum standards guide, according tocurriculum standards, etc. People’s Education Press(PEP),ShanghaiScientific and Technical Publishers(SSTP) version Phoenix SciencePress(PSPRESS) version, three versions of physics textbooks are studied, from the arrangement, main content, and scientific inquiry as threeaspects of analysis on textbooks and comparative studies. The mainwork includes five aspects:Firstly, through literature research, junior highschool physics textbook is studied, analyzed, and summarized. Secondly, according to the requirements of the standard curriculum, textbookchapters were typically studied. Thirdly, according to the curriculumstandards of scientific inquiry, the connotation of scientific inquired andthe elements of scientific inquiry are studied and analyzed. Fourthly, according to scientific inquiry three versions of textbooks for the contentsof each part of scientific inquiry are involved in a statistical analysis, andcompared with statistical data. Fifthly, by combination of statisticalcomparison results, suggestions and comments for improving the juniorhigh school physics textbook are given.Studies have shown that: PEP version, SSTP version and PSPRESSversion reflect the guide of the standard curriculum, and curriculumcontent is appropriate according to the basic requirements of thestandard curriculum. The effort is also made for scientific investigations. The content and presentation form of three sets of textbooks in generalare in accordance with "substance","movement and interaction", "energy" for the three primary themes,In the textbooks, PEP is easy to beoperated. In the specific scientific content, three textbooks demonstrateunderstanding of the editors, while each has its own characteristics. Forexample, in terms of scientific inquiry, the differences are obvious,PSPRESS version give emphasis to inquiry activities, with the purpose ofincreasing student scientific literacy, and the requirement of ability ofstudents is higher, SSTP version and PEP version are more traditional, andthe features are not obvious.
