Scientific research activities is an important part of the global high school chemistry curriculum reform,China's "chemistry curriculum standard(Experiment)" has made clear requirements for the cultivation of scientific inquiry ability and chemical experit ability,the United States "National Science Education Standard" also pointed out that all the students at each stage have right and obligations to carry out scientific inquiry activities to cultivate students' exploratory thinking and ability.As a carrier of teaching ideas and content,the teaching materials plays an important role in promoting the development of students.This paper chooses the Chinese and American versions of high school chemistry textbooks as the research object,and make comparative analysis of the scientific inquiry activities in the content of "Chemical equilibrium".By comparing the Chinese and English versions of textbooks,the research direction is determined,and then the problem which will be solved is determined.According to the classification of scientific inquiry activities and the establishment of the analysis of the dimension system,we make a quantitative analysis of the scientific inquiry activities in the content of "Chemical equilibrium",and the conclusion of this paper is given,and then puts forward some suggestions on the compiling and teaching of the "Chemical equilibrium" part in the chemistry textbook of high school in China.The following conclusions are drawn from comparative analysis:Firstly,analyze from the types of scientific inquiry activities,The textbooks of our country are emphasized on the scientific inquiry of experimental science and the scientific inquiry of communication.American version of the textbooks are mainly based on experimental scientific inquiry activities and investigation scientific inquiry activities,in addition,the number is less than our's.But two versions of the teaching materials are based on experimental scientific inquiry activities which is in line with the characteristics of Chemistry subject.Secondly,analyze from the content of scientific inquiry activities,China's teaching materials are mainly based on theoretical knowledge,while the US version of the textbooks are mainly based on applied knowledge.But to the scientific inquiry activities,The choice of content in both Chinese and American versions tends to be consistent.Thirdly,analyze from the form of the text of the scientific inquiry activities,two versions of teaching materials use schematic diagrams,physical maps and tables in the expression of specific inquiry activities which plays a very good auxiliary and complementary role,and the goals of Knowledge and skills,processes and methods are both obviously.While the effect of using the physical map is better in American edition textbook,which plays a good role on the emotional,attitude and values goals in the three-dimensional goals.Fourthly,analyze from level of openness of scientific inquiry activities,Our country's teaching edition textbooks are dominated by scientific inquiry activities at level 3 and level 5,but the American version of the teaching materials is mainly based on the scientific research activities at the level of 5 and 6.The level of scientific inquiry activities in the teaching materials of our country is paying attention to the gradual progress,and the American version of the teaching materials has higher requirements for the students' overall ability.Fifthly,analyze from the number of scientific inquiry activities,the number of scientific inquiry activities in Chinese teaching materials is more than that of American version.Mainly because of our education model analysis unit contains a number of scientific inquiry activities;but the US version pays more attention to the integrity of inquiry,and left enough room for students to explore.The following recommendations are made by comparative study:Firstly,the teacher should absorb the essence of the two textbooks and select different teaching materials for different basic students;secondly,In the compilation of textbooks,first,we can introduce some micro-experiments and small family experiments,so that students really involved.Then,enhance the column design function,Create columns with functional value.Finally,t Appropriately increase the number of illustrations in scientific inquiry activities of Chinese people's education edition textbooks,and infiltrate the scientific thinking and methods conveyed in scientific inquiry activities into life and social activities.Thirdly,students should focus on improving their sense of inquiry,mastering the method of scientific inquiry by conducting the exploration Activities.
