| Recently, robotics education has already got the domestic andinternational extensive concern in Elementary Education. Roboticseducation is considered to be an effective approach to integrate theinstruction of STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics)discipline because its cross-blend and operability. It also can promote thetraining of students ‘STEM literacy. The research of robotics educationhas a high theoretical value and practical significance. The robot helpsteachers to create context which contains engineering design, scientificprocess, technology literacy and mathematics. This context allowsstudents to throw themselves into these subjects and obtain a deeperunderstanding. However, In the process of specific robotics education activities, thelack of reasonable instruction design process is obviously. As Director ofCarnegie Mellon Robotics Academy Robin Shoop pointed out:“Yet, ourresearch is finding that many teachers miss key STEM ‘teachingmoments’ that robotics enables. Often, robotics teachers will allowstudents to be haphazard in their design process and avoid mathematics when possible (e.g., using guess-and-check strategies). This methodologyleads to weak solutions and reduces student learning.â€This paper will carry out exploratory research about how to integraterobotics educational activities with STEM education, and how to designthe instruction of robotics educational activities according to integrationof traditional instruction design theory and activity theory. The Specificcontents of this paper consist of three parts: First, the way to integrateeducational robot with STEM education. Analysis the commonorganization mode of robotics educational activities, refer to the theoryand practice of curriculum integration, and put forward the model ofintegration in the end; Secondly, establish the ADDIE design pattern ofrobotics educational activities under the horizon of STEM education, based on critical views about traditional instruction design theory and theconcept of activity theory. Finally, provide three robotics educationalactivity teaching case with different model of STEM disciplineintegration. |
