After the 21 st century,the demand for comprehensive talents in the United States is increasing.In order to accelerate the country's economic development,STEAM(science,technology,engineering,art and mathematics)talent cultivation strategies have been deployed.With the wave of reform of the new curriculum,China has introduced STEAM education into quality education.Under the influence of STEAM's educational philosophy,relevant government departments,schools and educators have gradually realized that in order to cultivate all-round innovative talents,the focus is on continuously guiding and tapping students' ability to learn independently,critical thinking,and solve problems.As a cross-disciplinary subject,robot education is at the forefront of the development of the times and has gradually become a research hotspot.The information technology course of "General Technology" and "Comprehensive Practice" in middle schools in China also contains relevant content of robot education.Robot education can effectively integrate science,technology,engineering,art and mathematics,making it an effective carrier of STEAM education.Therefore,it is of great significance to integrate the STEAM education concept in-to the teaching of middle school robots.Through the empirical research of robot education and training,it is found that how to integrate STEAM education with robot teaching activities,break the traditional teaching design method,integrate constructivist theory,multiple intelligence theory,activity theory and project-based learning method,and construct a suitable middle school student learner.The teaching mode of characteristics is an issue that is urgently needed for research.Based on the STEAM theory,this paper focuses on the current situation of robot education activities at home and abroad,using the basic theories of education,and using a personalized teaching method to construct a middle school robot education model,aiming at cultivating students' innovative ability.In this paper,the teaching model is called “Five-dimensional Item”,and the so-called “Five-dimensional Item” refers to the research and design of robot projects from five dimensions of STEAM.Focusing on the "Robot Restaurant" series of courses in the middle school robot course,the "Five-dimensional Item" teaching design is carried out from the perspective of STEAMtheory,and the "Five-dimensional Item" design teaching process is used,and data collection is conducted through questionnaires.The problems that emerged from the results of the practice were analyzed.According to the evaluation scale of the middle school robot course design,the students' learning effect was comprehensively evaluated from multiple dimensions and levels.
