College physical education is an important part in sports, on the one hand, it is the focusof school physical education, on the other hand, it is also the starting point of social sports.College physical education teaching is an important link in cultivating high-quality talentswith all-round development of morality, intelligence, body, and directly affects student’sphysical and mental health.This paper takes Shandong Youth Political College’s physical education curriculums asthe research object, and uses the research methods such as literature method, questionnairesurvey method, mathematical statistics method, logic analysis method and so on. This papersystematically and thoroughly researches on the setting up of the current physical educationcurriculum content and the curriculum reform.Firstly, we thoroughly investigate and analyze the present physical education curriculumsituation of the Shandong Youth Political College from the three aspects: firstly, survey andanalyze the physical status of the Shandong Youth Political College’s students, including thestudents’ physical consciousness, the students’ attitudes toward physical educationcurriculum，the students participation in physical exercise, the students demand for sports andso on; secondly, comprehensive understand the public physical education thought，includingthe teacher sports concept, sports teaching contents setting, education period, as well as thestatus quo of the physical curriculum evaluation; thirdly, comprehensive understand theteachers’ situation of the Shandong Youth Political College, including the age distribution,teachers’ qualifications, teachers’ re-education and so on.Secondly, based on the results of the survey, we Summarize the profound problems inthe existing physical curriculum reform of the Shandong Youth Political College, includingthe implementation of the lifelong physical education thought is not enough, the sportscurriculum and the needs of the students do not match, the theory period setting is also notenough, the evaluation index system of sports curriculum is not comprehensive, At the sametime, the teachers re-education associated with the sports curriculum teaching is lack.Lastly, we put forward effective measures to the further reform. Including pay attentionto changes the life-long sports concept of teachers and students, in the physical curriculumprocess we should pay attention to connect the teaching content and the students’ interestseamlessly, change the traditional teaching mode, create a new teaching mode of physicaleducation， improve the comprehensive quality of the physical teachers, and establish ascientific and reasonable curriculum evaluation system.
