As the popularization of the informationized teaching hardware representedby the interactive electronic whiteboard, the information technology is more andmore extensive applied in the junior English teaching. However, thecomprehensive intervention of the information technology has impacted andchanged the old teaching mode,yet the new teaching mode failed to formtimely,which resulted in applying mechanically,misapplying media andtechnology and other teaching chaoses happened occasionally.Therefore, thisstudy introduces the ASSURE model to the information-based junior Englishteaching.It lays emphasis on the selection of methods,media and materials basedon the analysis of the learners and provides scientific and effective learningenvironment and experience for students in order to establish a new mode to meetthe requirements of information technology and curriculum’s integration.At the beginning of the study, the author has made investigation andanalysis to some junior middle school English teachers and students. This paperdemonstrated the feasibility and necessity of the study. Then, It chose the studentsof Class Three, Grade Seven of QuanTang Middle school as experimentalobjects.The author worked with the local English teacher and conducted theexperiment for50days. This thesis stated the main teaching operationalpoints,explained the application of the interactive electronic whiteboard system inEnglish teaching in detail and showed a teaching design case in the core chaptersaccording to the six big steps of the ASSURE model such as the analysis of thelearner characteristics, the statement of the learning objectives and so on. Finally,it is concluded that the study can improve students’ leaning interest andachievement through the data comparison before and after the experiment, thecomparison between the two groups, the analysis of the experimental results. Theauthor hopes this study can bring some beneficial enlightenment to the juniormiddle school’s English teachers.
