The basic problem of teaching research is "what to teach" and "how to teach", the former focuses on the question of teaching content, the latter focuses on the question of teaching form. The teaching content decides to teaching forms, the teaching form services for the teaching content."What to teach" is more important than "how to teach" forever."What to teach" involves the problem of mathematics knowledge essence. Mathematics knowledge essence is not only the soul of mathematics, but also is the core of mathematics teaching.《The math curriculum standard of ordinary high school(experimental)》ade clear that mathematics curriculum should emphasize the recognizing and understanding of mathematics essence.To this end, this paper tries to discuss the issue about mathematics teaching from the perspective of mathematical knowledge essence. Because mathematics teaching generally falls into three categories:mathematics concepts teaching, mathematical conclusion teaching and mathematics question-resolved teaching, so the research on the nature of mathematical knowledge mainly discuss three aspects of mathematics concepts, mathematics conclusions and mathematical methods.This research is mainly on the basis of absorbing predecessors’ research results, guided by the modern teaching theory, using literature research, case study and comparative research, combining with my teaching experience, to discuss the teaching strategies of mathematical concepts, conclusions and methods, also putting forward some teaching Suggestions and opinions.Through the research in this paper draws following conclusions:Grasping the essence of mathematical concepts should get through the forming process, appropriate characterization, variable type teaching, and discrimination with connection strategies; Grasping the essence of unprovable mathematics conclusions should get through the explanatory comprehension, analogy and inductive methods; Grasping the essence of provable mathematics conclusions should get through the forming process, variable type teaching, discrimination with connection,and digging thinking method such as strategies; Grasping the essence of mathematical methods should get through one question with multiple solutions, a method of multipurpose, many methods to return a first-class way such as strategies.
