Nowadays, everybody pays more attention to the quality education and it is a requirement of the age to develop our country's education and improve the quality of our labor force. Besides, it is a quite important task that needs to be taken with the development of the history. Mathematics, as one of the major subjects in middle schools, plays an important role in improving student's quality and even the quality of the whole nation.The mathematical thoughts and methods are the important part of the basic knowledge of mathematics for senior middle schools. They are considered as rational knowledge of the mathematical laws and the reflection of general philosophical thinking and methodology in mathematics. The mathematical thoughts and methods, treated as the pith and marrow of mathematical knowledge, are regarded as a bridge between knowledge and ability. They act as the guide thoughts and generally used methods in mathematics. Once people master them, they will play a permanent role in people's thinking. At the same time, the mathematical thoughts and methods can help people understand the value of mathematics; therefore, it is not difficult to see the importance of them. In mathematics teaching, Student's quality can be improved only by the means of pointing out the mathematical thoughts and methods. In this thesis, through expounding and classifying the common mathematical thoughts and methods for senior middle schools and connecting with the teaching practice, the writer tries to provide some suggestions about teaching the mathematical thoughts and methods.Three parts make up the thesis. The first part studies the theories of mathematical thoughts and methods, and divides the mathematical thoughts and methods for senior middle schools into three kinds. In the second part, features of the thoughts and methods are analyzed and according to the features, proper teaching suggestions are offered; The last part, with the writer's practice and concrete teaching cases, specifies how to infiltrate and apply mathematical thoughts and methods.
