Objective:If rubber particles density of artificial turf was altered, the density variation effects on the traction of shoe-turf interaction was investigated; the traction conditions effects on the alteration of athletes biomechanical characteristics, athletes performance and sports injuries, which provides the theoretical and experimental base of artificial turf to formulating the standard and improving the instrumentation, was also studied. Methods:Subjects were13male soccer players from Beijing Sports University. The artificial turf was filled by Okg,0.5kg and1.5kg rubber particles. The traction of shoe-turf interaction under various filling density was measured by shoe-surface traction tester. Kinematic and kinetic data for straight starting and45°cutting motion under different densities were collected simultaneously by high-speed infrared motion capture system and force platform. Results:The traction of shoe-turf interaction went up following the increase of filling density on the basis of mechanical test. Based on kinematic and kinetic tests, peak ground reaction force along different directions, loading rate, peak knee extent ion moment, peak knee adduction moment, peak ankle plantar flexion moment, the moment of the peak GRF, the component in vertical and posterior directions, knee extention moment,45°cutting during kicking phase and the GRF in horizontal plane and vertical directions increased when the filling density rise. On the contrary, the knee adduction moment and knee abduction angle decreased in terms of the increase of filling density. There is no significant difference found during lower extremity angle during45°cutting braking phase and the acceleration of COM during straight launch phase.Conclusions:1. The density of rubber particles in artificial turf plays a significant role in the traction of shoe-turf interaction. The traction increases on the basis of the increase of rubber particles density.2. The traction variation caused by packing density doesn’t change kinematic parameters during braking phase of cutting.3. The increase of the traction of shoe-turf interaction will lead to the increase of peak of the GRF and joint moment during cutting breaking phase, which enhances the risk of injury.4. The increase of the traction of shoe-turf interaction can provide the capacity of braking and propulsion very well, which won’t affect sports performance on straight launch.
