With the rapid development of knowledge economy, the state attache’s great importance to vocational education, vocational education changes into comprehensively improvement of teaching quality from rapid extension. This requires vocational colleges should be equipped with a suitable teacher performance appraisal system. But the current teacher performance appraisal system just blindly copy the system of colleges or secondly school, Which have caused a lot of problems, therefore, it is imperative to establish a scientific and reasonable performance appraisal system.This paper firstly makes a introduction of Y Vocational College and the structure of human resource, which is based on basic theories and the thinkinu of discovering problems, analyzing them and searching for solutions. Secondly, based on the field visits and survey analysis, this paper analyses the main problems of teacher performance appraisal in the vocational college, as follows:Firstly,the inconsistency between appraisal objective and school strategic objective when establishing appraisal objective. Secondly, indicator composition and weight system of indicators are not reasonable. Thirdly, the result of appraisal is lack of analysis, feedback and effective application. Then it points out the critical causes of these problems. Base on the survey and analysis of the actual situation, absorbing advanced theories at home and aboard, this paper points out the suggestion of optimization of Y vocational college teacher performance appraisal system. The following suggestions:to establish appraisal objective according to strategic objective of school’s development; to set up a more scientific indicator system of performance appraisal. In the process of performance appraisal, to enhance transparency and and to combine quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis is critical principle. finally, in order to make sure the the smooth implementation of performance appraisal system, this paper put forward the establishment of a comprehensive incentive compensation incentive system based on performance appraisal and emotional incentives. The analysis aims to provide a scientific basis for performance assessment of Y Teacher of Vocational College.
