Archery is an official event of the Olympic Games as well as a potentiallyadvantageous one for us. Archery is an event which needs a lot of skills. Every singlemovement is quite critical that the missing of one movement will affect the quality of thewhole movements. For youngsters who are at the beginning stage of learning archery, theymust build the dynamic stereotypes based on the basic technical movements and only inthis way can they achieve developments. Due to the lack of a concrete recognition, archeryis still a strange and novel sport for youngsters who are at the beginning stage of learningarchery. There have existed some defects in the traditional teaching methods in that theycannot satisfy the students’ needs of grasping the key points of movements quickly andaccurately. Video teaching method can convey the key points of the movements to studentsin a more vivid, visual and intuitive way, and can instantly give the feedback of thestudents learning. Hence, the teaching effect of physical education can be significantlyimproved.This study adopts literature review method and experimental method as well. Theauthor carries out this study in Wenquan No.2Middle School of Beijing focusing on20boy students from12to14years old during the eight weeks’ archery training. Studentsare divided into experimental group and control group. After the experiment, all thestudents are assessed. As a result, the score of the experimental group is higher than that ofthe control group. Based on the statistical analysis of the experimental results, it can beconcluded:In the teaching of the youngsters’archery, video teaching method can improve theteaching effect significantly.According to the experimental results, the teaching effect of the class which adoptsvideo teaching is much better than that of the class which adopts the traditional teachingmethod.Video teaching can make teaching vivid, contagious and can fully arouse students’interest. Meanwhile, it also plays an active role in consolidating the correct movements,correcting wrong movements and activating classroom atmosphere.
