Ideological and political education is the extraordinary tradition of the CommunistParty of China, which is also the primary content of our citizens’ spiritual civilizationand one of the main ways to solve our social problems and conflicts. Under the socialistmarket economy, Chinese ideological and political education has made considerableprogress in both theoretical study and practical work, but still not perfectly suits thecurrent economy and society of China. To improve effectiveness of our ideological andpolitical work has been a long-exist serious problem to solve. For example, limited tothe traditional cognitivism mode of education, the main method of ideological andpolitical education in colleges and universities is apparent courses that are directly andclearly inculcated to students. That means a relatively comprehensive scientific andpractical curriculum system should be established while improving the dominantideological and political curriculum education system. Study the successful experienceof Western countries, especially Britain’s implicit moral education, is significance toenhance the pertinence and effectiveness of the ideological and political education.Western countries, particularly the implicit moral education of higher education in UK,have a relatively longer history and more rapidly development, which enable them toaccumulate wealthy outcomes in theoretical research and practical education experience.Thus, western implicit moral education is highly systematic, and more practicalworkable. This dissertation starts form the basic concept definition of "implicit moraleducation", based on the analysis of the necessity of implicit moral education, to focuson the narrative summary and combing of the recessive trait in British implicit moraleducation, and expand cross-cultural comparison of the universality and individualitybetween China and UK. To analyse the basic characteristics of implicit moral educationin UK, and drawing its beneficial ingredients, is a great complement for the defects ofour country’s traditional one-dimension explicit ideological and political education.Which has methodological significance and value to enhance the effectiveness ofideological and political education in higher education, in strengthening and improvingideological and political education of colleges and universities in China.
