Study On The Safeguard Mechanism Of Student Power In Research Universities

With the development of the socialist market, our higher education has already come to the popular stage of development and the system of higher education in our country has been reformed which makes the charge system carry out. As the main consumers of higher education, students ought to have the right to maintain their own interests. In the higher education field, there are three major subjects in education activities which include teachers, students and administrative staff. As a result, the three reasonable structures of the power should be academic power, administrative power and student power, and these three powers should coordinate with each other to achieve the balance state. However, in the power structure system of colleges and universities in our country, academic power occupies the same important position as administrative power, and at the same time, students’power is often weakened and overlooked. The lack of students’power causes the imbalances of internal power and puts off the healthy development of universities. Therefore, it is very important to protect student power. We should build the scientific and reasonable safeguard mechanism of students’power, protect the student power to run effectively, return to main status of the students and make the democratic management implement in order to promote better development of universities.The article uses the method of literature analysis, through analyzing relevant literature which is collected, to understand the research status of student power in research university at home and abroad, and to realize the significant importance of protecting student power. This article uses SPSS software to analyze the questionnaire withreliability analysis and validity analysis, ensuring the reliability and validity of the questionnaire. Analyzing the questionnaire data on this basis, it can find out that student power in research university is in the absence of state in the process of operation, and undergraduate and graduate students in the operation of students power still exist certain differences, then further illustrate the reasons of these problems. Secondly, analyzing the evolution of student power in typical foreign research university, and comparingwith our country’s. Finally, through practical investigation and analysis of present situation of student power in research university, drawing lessons from the related practice and valuable experience of foreign universities, and proposing safeguard mechanism with targeting and feasibility.
