The Research On The City Integration Of Floating Population In Beijing

As China’s rapid economic development and urbanization processforward, the floating population is increasing faster and faster and their flowrange is more and more widely. Beijing, as the capital of our country, is moreattractive for the floating population and one of the most densely-populateddistricts in China. According to the data of the Sixth Population Census, thenumber of floating population of our country has increased to220million so far,and the number in Beijing is7.045million, which represents35.9%of totalpopulation of the city. It has not to be denied that this part of population is veryimportant which people can’t ignore, so it means a lot to study their cityintegration. The main content of this dissertation is to describe and analysesthe city integration of floating population in Beijing through economical aspect,social aspect and psychological aspect. And then this paper will rate the cityintegration of these people, and summarize the characteristics and limitationsof their city integration based on their score. At last, this dissertation will givesome policy suggestions accordingly. The first section introduces thebackground of the city integration of floating population in Beijing andsummarizes the purpose and meaning of the research. And then, the authoralso introduces the main content and research methods. Section2is theliterature review, which reviews the literatures about the city integration offloating population and also defines “city integration” and “floating population”. In section3, the dissertation uses questionnaire to investigate the floatingpopulation in Beijing and conduct statistical summarization of the sample.Followed by section3，is the description and analysis of the sample througheconomical aspect, social aspect and psychological aspect. Then, section5introduces a score system and calculates the economical integration, socialintegration, psychological integration and city integration’s score accordingly.The last section is the conclusion, in which the author also gives some policysuggestions.
