As an important form of MSW professional education system and the accomplishing means of training target, practice education concerns the integrity and systematization of professional education directly and thus affects MSW’s education quality. Under the background of current economic society and professional development and in view of the restrictive factors----the professional education progressing time and professional developing environment of MSW, there are many problems and difficulties existing in the establishment and perfection of MSW’s practice education mode, which restricts the development of social work’s specialization and professionalization to a large extent.In order to fully understand and grasp the influencing factor and the developing status of MSW’s practice education mode in mainland China, the author conducts semi-structured interviews on postgraduate students at school from6colleges of training MSW in the eastern, central and western areas of mainland China. The survey contents and dimensions mainly include many factors concerning the professional practice education mode of MSW, which are professional practice form, practice target location, practice time, practice organization, practice supervision and internship evaluation. Through the collection and analysis of the obtained survey data, the author considers that the professional practice education mode of MSW in mainland China is still in the early stage of development, systematic and standard professional practice education mode of MSW is in the absence of state and the professional practice education mode needs to be further developed and improved. There is still a larger gap of MSW’s professional practice education between mainland China and Hong Kong, Taiwan as well as the developed countries. On one hand, there is a lack in the macro social environment of the professional practice education development of the social work. On the other hand, there is a short of the resources concerning the professional practice education development of the social work. In this background, we need the joint efforts from the parties in our society to promote the optimization and development of MSW’s practice education. In addition to the government support on the policy and institution as well as the optimization of the development environment, we need to vigorously promote the improvement of the MSW’s practice education form in colleges, to build the professional practice base and to train and promote the MSW’s professional supervision, and to refer and absorb the excellent experiences of Hong Kong, Taiwan and foreign countries which own relatively mature professional practice education development of the social work. On this basis we can integrate the education related resources of the MSW’s professional practice to explore and analyze the development path of MSW’s practice education mode in mainland China and to construct a standardized and systematic mode of the social work practice education.
