| “School-based curriculum†is one of the mainly component of the school system;together with national curriculum and local curriculum comprise the “three-tieredcurriculumâ€, which is carried out in the school. This paper is based on the thoroughlyunderstanding of school-based curriculum and school-based curriculum development, atthe same time, plenty of theories and achievements about school-based curriculumdevelopment at home and abroad are quoted in. More importantly, aiming at the localcharacteristic of Luotian County in Hubei province, we have designed school-basedcurriculum resources with local characteristic and its instructional design. By makingsurveys and analyzing the current situation of school-based curriculum development ofjunior school biology in Luotian and the demands for knowledge of the junior students,as well as the understanding degree of the students for the biological material aroundthemselves, we do find that the junior students are partial to the course of activity type,what’s more, a majority of students are familiar with Chinese chestnut in Luotian.According to this peculiarity and the physical truth, this paper includes five parts, mainlyaimed at exploring school-based curriculum case whose main content is Chinese chestnut,which is the special local product in Luotian, likewise, the instructional design mainlybased on the courses of activity type. Every section is a combination of classroomteaching and extracurricular practice. Give prominence to the key thought: students aresubject and teachers are guidance. The teaching designs involves the knowledge of plantroot, stem, leaf and blossom and bear fruit, fruit breeding, plant growth environment,nutritional value, cause the fruit mildew, The fruit of Chinese chestnut content such asprocessing technology, the production of simple specimen. Mainly adopt thus methods,such as Group cooperation, field teaching, open the floor for discussion, survey andinterview, write small articles after class, founded includes and so on, forming theeducational system of “returning the class to students†and “the integration of life and theclassâ€, paying more attention to develop the students’ comprehensive practice ability,aswell as scientific inquiry and innovation ability. In order to improve the implementationplan, we work out relative evaluation methods, to allow the students to do a timely reflection. However, when the bell ring, it does not mean the learning is over, we doextend the study to the students’ daily lives, and try to make the influence sustaining allover the students’ lifetime. To detect whether the content of the educational design isfeasible, we do additional questionnaire survey about “students’ existing knowledgelevelâ€. Well, according to the result, the designed contents are conforming to the currentknowledge level of the junior students, possessing the feasibility and operability.Survey results shows, in Luotian, the school-based curriculum development have notstart. The achievements of this paper can be a reference for the future School-basedcurriculum development in Luotian, promoting the local school-based curriculumdevelopment. |
