A Study On Profit-making Business Development Strategy Of ZJU Logistics Group

Since1985, logistical socialization reform in universities has experienced nearly30years of development. The core content of the logistical reform demands the total separation from the university administration system, establishment of self-financing economic entity, introduction of social forces.ZJU logistics group is a banner of Chinese college logistics system, has strong influence and radiation. ZJU logistics group is a state-owned one-man company, undertaking the tasks of campus public welfare logistics service and preserving and increasing the value of state property. On campus, ZJU logistics group undertakes all the logistics affairs except the students’ dormitory and hospital. Off campus, it provides high quality logistics services for over20universities and80famous enterprise and public institution. some business of the affiliated subsidiaries are non-profitable, which need service fees provided by the university. the main profit roots in the profit-making business, including food and beverage service, retailing, landscaping, hydropower construction, estate management, conference, exhibition, system integration and souvenirs.With further development of the logistical socialization reform, the difficulties and challenges faced are constantly emerging, ZJU logistics group have to re-examine the internal and external environment, adjust the development strategy of profit-making business, realize the optimal resource allocation, improve the profitability of the enterprises. Meanwhile, ZJU logistics group have to rely on the advantage of complete coverage of multiple industries, provide integrated logistics services for the enterprise and public institution, realize the transformation of enterprise development in the new undertaking.This paper analyzes the external environment and internal conditions of the profit-making business, sorts out the facing opportunities and threats, advantages and disadvantages, and does a SWOT analysis of the profit-making business.On that basis, according to the current industry position of profit-making business, combined with the market condition analysis, this paper analyze and confirm the strategic position of the profit-making business of ZJU logistics group, provides a feasible path and solution to the development of profit-making business.In the end, this paper analyzes the support and guarantee for the development of profit-making business in three ways:organization structure optimization, human resource development, enterprise cultural construction.
