Human’s survival and development must rely on the continuous development andutilization of environmental resources, however, the irrational utilization will cause seriousenvironmental problems, which will certainly hinder the development of our society and gethuman’s life into trouble. Carrying out environmental education is a very necessary andurgent task in the current in order to solve these problems. The implementation ofenvironmental education can cultivate students’ awareness of environmental protection andsustainable development, eventually enhancing the students’ sense of responsibility in societyand also improving students’science literacy in biology.This research focuses on the implementation of environmental education in biologyteaching of senior high school by adopting literature data method, questionnaire surveymethod, interview method, experiment method, case study method and mathematical analysisso as to understand the current biology teaching situation, the existing problems and factorsabout environmental education. Based on the research, the countermeasures are put forward inorder to provide the reference for the teacher to carry out environmental education andimprove the teachers’ ability of environmental education. At the same time, the research onthe classroom teaching and extracurricular teaching cases are carried out as well.This study first does a questionnaire survey and interview on the implementation ofenvironmental education in biology teaching in senior high school. On the basis ofQuestionnaire for students (for teachers) on the situation of the environment education inhigh school biology teaching, the research and interview analysis are carried out amongbiology teachers and high school students in Yantai.The survey result shows the following; first, most of the teachers have strong awarenessof environmental education, but lack systematic and integrity environmental knowledge. Withthe teaching age increasing, they become less concentrated on environmental education.Second, though most teachers’ environmental behavior is better, there are still fewer teachershaving the initiative to planning environmental protection activities. Third, high schoolstudents have got a basic understanding of the environmental knowledge from the outside,rather than from the school. Fourth, knowledge on environmental awareness for most highschool students is just a theory, causing many students to lack recessive environmental behavior. Fifth, in the high school biology teaching, teaching form of environmentaleducation is always single, and few teachers can do environmental education in practice.Sixth, biology plays an important role in environmental education in biology teaching in highschool, but there are a lot of difficulties in the real implementation.Based on the analysis of existing problems, firstly the countermeasures of implementingenvironmental education in biology teaching in senior middle school are put forward;secondly, the advice of carrying out environment education is proposed after the analysis oncompulsory modules of environmental education in high school biology, and finally, twocases of the classroom and extracurricular teaching are carried out as well.
