Ideological and political education of colleges and universities aims tosolve student’s ideational, psychical and behavioral problems to helpthem to establish correct outlooks on world, life and worth. Ideologicaland political education of colleges and universities which has been in apassive situation called “you say, I hear” for a long time bring littlesuccess, which not only makes ideological and political education noteasy to be accepted by students but also influence the effect of students’quality education. In order to achieve the goal of ideological and politicaleducation, it’s not enough for educators just to depend on traditional ways.It’s necessary to bring new methods and technique which help therealization of goals. This article mainly discuss how apply practicalpsychological counseling to ideological and political education.The first chapter of article mainly introduce the general situation ofpsychological counseling and ideological and political education anddifference，relation between them. Chapter two reveals the problem inideological and political education of colleges and universities and thepossibility of offsetting it by applying practical psychological counselingtechnique to it. On base of that,chapter three discuss questions about howapply psychological counseling technique to ideological and politicaleducation of colleges and universities combining concrete cases. It alsoput forward preliminary views on how to perfect that and applicationcondition etc.It is necessary to point that though the application of psychologicalcounseling technique can assist ideological and political education ofcolleges and universities to a great extent, it doesn’t mean it can generatesatisfactory effect under any circumstances.
