The feminism was originated from the women’s liberation movement. In the process of its development and improvement, it becomes a set of particular methodology and value orientation and is applied to the humanistic and social science. After realizing the significance of the gender consciousness, feminist scholars started to pay their attention to the higher education. They reformed educational concepts and teaching methods to introduce the gender consciousness into the education field. As a result, feminism pedagogy as a new subject emerged. In a nutshell, the disciplines of feminism pedagogy are that use feminism to reform the traditional education, endow the pedagogy with feminism values and methodology, and solve the problems in traditional education.The college gender equity education courses were the products of practice of feminism pedagogy in higher education. In western countries, the feminists took the gender equity education courses as the media to penetrate feminism into every academic subject area. Those courses made the marginalized and invisible feminism mainstreaming and explicit. As a result, the courses changed the patriarchy image of college courses and became the base and platform to integrate into the higher education system.The college gender equity education courses access to China higher education was a certain result of the western feminism academic influence. It also reflects the very concern to women’s living status and women study after the reform and opening policy began.This thesis was based on the course Social and Gender, which is a distinctive optional course of some majors in Nanjing Normal University. In this thesis, the author used several research methods to analyze the tasks, teaching methods, contents and curriculum evaluation of gender equity education courses from the feminism education perspective. Those methods are documentary, participatory observation and half structured interview. The instructor of this course has a very distinctive feminism characteristic. The content of the course is very rich, the methods are flexible. At the same time, this course focuses on the development of students’emotion and values. This study shows that the course had a positive effect on the students’gender and self-acceptance consciousness.However, the process of the introduction of the gender equity course is not plain sailing. The traditional social gender concepts, academic regulations and the rigid educational system made our gender equity course fragmented、westernization、 essentializing and marginalized. The future of the feminism pedagogy is to expand the influence of the gender equity course and make the course become systematic、local and mainstreaming.
