In recent years, the number of juvenile delinquencies is increasing with seriouscharacter. Generally speaking, a group of the people who exactly committed thejuvenile delinquency would be identified as youth offenders. Ideological and politicaleducation remains a fundamentally important instrument to help the youth offendersstart with a new slate. The precondition for the good ideological and politicaleducation is to conduct the psychological health education, which is included in therange of ideological and political education as well as serves as the basis for theideological and political education. When morally and ideologically educating theyouth offenders, it is their psychological status that adjusted their thoughts. They musthave the positive psychological quality to guarantee that the education would comeinto effect. Hence, during the education on youth offenders, it is of vital importance tostrengthen the psychological health education, which will also positively influence theyouth offenders to correct the wrong thoughts and rebuild the healthy personality.Currently, scholars in China and the world all conducted related research on thepsychological health education on the youth offenders. Scholars in China mainlyfocused on the education contents, methods and channels but ignored the specialty ofthe youth offenders, which led to the insufficiencies and flaws of their research. Also,some scholars also shared the similar research focus, which resulted in the fact that nonew progresses had been made in this sphere. Hence, in this context, it is urgent toconduct the critically meaningful research on the psychological health education onyouth offenders.First, this research introduced relevant concepts of psychological healtheducation and the education on the youth offenders. This contained two aspects: Thefirst one was to describe the relationship between the connotation of psychologicalhealth education and the ideological and political education while the second was toreiterate the significance of education on youth offenders. The third was to analyzethe psychological features of the youth offenders. As long as understandingprofoundly the psychological features of the youth offenders and the origins of them,effected solutions can be produced. Therefore, this session of the research firstly focused on the cognitive features of the youth offenders and conducted the thoroughresearch on their immature cognitive structure and wrong value system. Whatfollowed was an emphasis on their affective characteristics to investigate theimpulsive and variable sentiments of the youth offenders. This research would alsodiscuss the will characteristics in order to understand the polarity and repeatability ofthe will of this group of people. Furthermore, their personality characteristics wouldbe placed under assessment to measure their intelligent characteristics, personalityand temperament. Through these efforts, this research is dedicated to changing thepsychological characteristics of the youth offenders, correcting their erroneousthoughts and helping them rebuild the healthy personality.Moreover, this research would also analyze the status quo of the psychologicalhealth education on youth offenders. First, it will evaluate the achievements made bythe psychological health education, including the success of this kind of education tointegrate the humanitarian educational concept and creating more educationalcontents. Second, it will identify the problems existed during the psychological healtheducation on youth offenders, including the insufficiency of realistic basis foreducation, insufficiency proportion of practices in education and the low quality andprofessional skills and knowledge of the teachers.Finally, this research will come up with the solutions to improve thepsychological health education on youth offenders. Built on the achievements madeby the psychological health education and the problems identified, this part of theresearch will contribute the solutions to improve the psychological health education.According to the dialectical materialism, the fundamental driver of development camedown to the internal cause of the subject while the external cause can function onlythrough changing the internal cause. Hence, it is significant to help youth offenderscultivate themselves morally via strengthening the psychological health education inorder to rebuild their personality and help them return to the society. This researchcontended that it is of necessity to raise relevant solutions based on the exact problemif the purpose is to fully make use of the psychological health education to help theyouth offenders. This also contains three aspects: the first is to come up with theconcrete basis for education based on the problem of insufficiency of realistic basis.The second is to improve the educational methods to settle down the problem ofinsufficiency proportion of practices. The third is to organize the professional trainingon the teachers in pursuit of the improvement of quality of teachers.
