Presently, Chinese is generating interest for historical reasons. In1967-1997Indonesiaforbade the study of Chinese language. The side of history cannot be reversed. From1998onwards Indonesia gradually approved the compulsory study of Chinese in their schools.Although this type of situation enabled students to begin the study of Chinese language, manystudents had to start from the basic.Varying backgrounds aspects made students to have varying motivation to study.These reasons caused a conditions increase in the research of the second language. From theresult of these research, the author discovered that study motivation can influence the progressof learners.Traditional educational concept propounds that teaching should be tailored towards thevarious methods. That is the so-called teaching according to ability.Therefore, acomprehensive understanding of basic science, student motivation and a full grasp of studentbasic situation very essential. Teachers know the state of their student. They can now focus onthe student conditions and make necessary adjustments, thus making teaching effective andmaking the teaching process will received. It will make the study process very interesting andfun.In the opinion of Indonesian schools, Chinese study has one short coming. Thiscontinued for30years making many young Indonesians cannot speak Chinese language(Mandarin) and unable to speak dialect too. As society progresses, Chinese once againbecame Indonesians second language without the auxiliary aid of parents, the teaching ofIndonesian literature and language rested on the teacher. Under this special conditions, no onehas researched into the Indonesian students method of studying Chinese Language. Theauthor admits personality affect and so does family background, race hence educational levelof the language teacher will deeply influence the Indonesian students study of Chineselanguage.A research of Bandung students in Indonesia shows, diligent study of Chineselanguage has many reasons. Some students feel that studying Chinese is a kind of challenge, some study because of the encouragement of their parents, while others study out ofadmiration for China and Chinese culture. Through the study of Chinese language canappreciate Chinese art, culture, history and morality. In addiction, it can help in securingemployment.Through summary, one can conclude that the Indonesian student’s greatest wish ofstudying Chinese language is to communicate with Chinese speakers. Secondly is the betterunderstand Chinese culture and customs. Thirdly is to understand the mindset and thinking ofthe Chinese language. Fourthly is to increase the reading ability of Chinese tests.In this research, which is based on a related international study, it referenced previousstudies on studying Chinese language as a foreign language through a questionnaire. Surveyfocusing on the motivation and analysis factors of Bandung Indonesian student.The purpose of the research was to comprehensively understand. Indonesiansecondary students learning motivation characters, analysis related factors in the hope ofproviding reference value for teaching Chinese as a foreign language.This research focused on5high schools and a total of534students and drew someinteresting conclusions. As students study Chinese language, gender, age, grade, origin, lengthof study, level of parents and teachers have great relevance.The first chapter introduction is mainly introduces the research background, researchpurpose, research methods and innovative points. the literary review which introduces theresults of previous studies on learning motivation.The second chapter is the method of study and the basic school students.The third chapter researches into learning motivation and its analysis especiallyIndonesian students learning motivation analysis.The fourth is related to stimulating the motivation and power of suggestion of theIndonesian students especially through analyzing education related conclusions drawn.The fifth is the conclusion which summarizes the result of the research.Final conclusion:1. Most Indonesian students while studying Chinese language feel its veryinteresting. They also feel it will help the course of their carrier later in life. 2. The level of the Chinese teachers has direct influence on the interest of thestudents. The deployment of a rich and enlightening teaching methods canenergize a positive interest in the students.3. Chinese is comparatively difficult, this will affect the study of Chineselanguage by Indonesian students.4. Most Indonesians admire Chinese culture, this will spark an increase in thestudents desire to study Chinese language.
