According to the existing researches, the present studys about micro-blog impacting on youngpeople’s media information processing capacity. In the pre-test, the present investigates892studentsaged14-28in NanJing by using a researeh method of literature analysis, interview andquestionnaire. The instruments include Adolescent’s Basic Information Scale (self-compiled),Adolescent’s micro-blog Contents Concern Scale (self-compiled). The study drafts the basic projectargument list. Before the formal testing, randomly selecting100adolescents to test, the validity ofthe argument list has reached a higher level.The formal test selected844adolescents, in order toexplore the status of using micro-blog, the degree of concerning contents, the motivation andsatisfaction, media information processing ability. This paper is intended to explain the relationshipabout four dimensions of media information processing ability. The aim of this study is to explainthe ability to treat information in micro-blog environment, to promote their healthy growth.By way of statistic analysis, the conclusions are as follows:(1) Adolescent’s micro-blog Contents Concern Scale consists of two dimensions, softinformation and hard information. The scale has good reliability and validity, which can be used asthe next step for the research tool.(2)64.5%teens use micro-blog, the daily using time is15-30minutes, the daily browsing orupdating is1-4microbloggings, each adolescent cares about more than30people and has more than40fans. Teenagers have high attention on family, hot topic, gossip and constellation. Their thinking,questioning, refuseing and verifying methods are more common.(3) There are significant demographical differences in micro-blog using, the degree of concern,motivation and satisfaction, which is significantly influenced by gender, age, network age, weeklyonline time.(4) The four dimensions about media information processing ability are significantly positivecorrelation. There is a significant correlation between micro-blog using and media informationprocessing ability, micro-blog contents degree and media information processing ability, motivationand satisfaction and media information processing ability.(5) Micro-blog has different effects on four dimensions of media information processingcapacity.(6) The four dimensions about media information processing capacity also have different effects on micro-blog using. The study shows that the relationship between media informationprocessing ability and media information processing ability is not completely one-to-onecorrespondence. It indicates that the development of youth media information processingcapabilities should be from many aspects.
