The population problem is the major issues, which restrict thedevelopment of the Comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable, and whichis the key factor affecting the economic and social development. As animportant factor of population problem, The population distribution would beto produce a great impact on the economic and social development.Because it play a common role that natural factors, social and economicdevelopment, the Inner Mongolia population distribution form of the currentsituation. The weakness of ecological environment and the limitation ofhuman settlement environment of Inner Mongolia, decides the basic pattern of“big scatter, small concentration" of population distribution. More than85%of the population is concentrated in the limited suitable region which the areaof nearly310thousand km2in all Autonomous region, a small amount ofpopulation distribution in the large area region which is living environment ofcritical appropriate or inappropriate region. From the perspective of theeconomic and social development, in the21st century, It is growing that thepolarization effect of Hohhot,Baotou and Eerduosi City, and the populationgrowth. The eastern population growth continued to slow and negative insome areas. In long-term stability under the condition of low birth rate, thepopulation distribution mainly affected by population migration in InnerMongolia. The main flow of population removal still is from the backwardarea to concentrate in developed regions. It will be increasing the proportionof the population and the population density in these areas. With the speeding up of the small town construction, the populationdistribution showed a trend of multi-polarization of the agglomeration.Under the background of the implementation of the spirit of theEighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China on Nov8, thethird and The fourth Plenary Session of18th CPC Central Committee, andadvancing urbanization, we need to understand the population spatialdistribution difference of Inner Mongolia, to explore the regional populationdistribution, to think and explore for effecting to develop regional populationpolicy and promote regional coordination and sustainable development, and tooffer reference to the practical work.
