Meanwhile, if studentscould do laboring work as much as they could, their civic virtue could be improved.Hisresearch subjects are students and students’ performance in Bovleksh Middle School.Sukhomlinsky’s promoted students’ civic virtue with labor education, whichprovide theoretical foundation and practical motivation.According to the explanationof the concept of the content, which including moral recognition, moral habit, moral emotion, moral will and moral ideal, this paper gives a summary of civic virtuein detail. The importance of civic virtue cannot be ignored. Because citizens’ personalmorality is based on civic virtue. The process of teaching can go smoothly on conditionof the cultivation of civic virtue. It is also the pillar of a harmonious collective. When it comes to the labor thoughts and its moral virtue, the author generalizesSukhomlinsky’s labor thoughts. It is labor that plays an important role in thecultivation of civic virtue. Sukhomlinsky put an emphasis on its affect to the progressof citizens’ mentality and the improvement of morality. His theory was origin fromMarxism-Leninism. Then he studied theories of Krupskaya, Makarenko, and N. A.Kaiipob. Later, he came up with his own theory under the certain social background ofSoviet Union.Sukhomlinsky tried to develop students’ civic virtue by labor education, which wasingenious. He generalized the labor principle of the cultivation of civic virtue tospecific, public-good, early, and moderate. Furthermore, he put forward strategies ofthe cultivation of students’ civic virtue, which including the construction of laboringattitude as a citizen, self-education, prototype, public activities and special laboringday.Nowadays, the lack of labor has led to bad behaviors to some extent, which is not goodfor the moral education and core value education. Under the background of thenew curriculum reform, we’d better pay more attention to labor education to promotethe development of moral education. In order to improve the cultivation of civic virtue, the author gives some suggestions on cultivating students’ civic virtue by laboreducation. Firstly, teachers should correct students’ attitudes because good attitude isimportant to students. Secondly, creating a harmonious atmosphere is benefit forstudents. Thirdly, new curriculum system about labor and moral education should beconstructed. Fourthly, we’d better set up a teaching team with high quality andlaboring technique knowledge. Furthermore, schools should enhance thecommunication with communities and parents.China is in a period of economic and social transformation. Civic virtue is the basicelement of the construction of harmonious society and the development of socialeconomy, which faces the challenge of traditional culture and modern technology andthe conflict of Chinese ideas and western thoughts. From what has been mentionedabove, educators should be aware of the importance of labor in people’scultural quality and inner qualities. Therefore, in China, we should practiceSukhomlinsky’s theory as flexible as possible and discard what is not suitable.
