| China has a rich etiquette culture developed over a long history,which not only shape standards of people’s behavior,helping people understand how to conduct themselves to build better relationships,but also works as a standard for civic virtue.Applying etiquette education in improving civic virtue is of great importance.Currently,the citizen moral problems of primary school students has become more serious than before and the fundamental causes lie in the impropriety of the citizen moral education,which puts too much emphasizes on inane sermon,overlooking students’ engagement and practice,easily leading to one’s knowledge doesn’t coincide with his action.This paper is an exploratory study dealing with the problems of the decaying civic virtue state among pupils,through which find the ways of integrating resources of civic virtue education by means of developing and managing of the etiquette school-based curriculum in the primary school.The development of the etiquette school-based curriculum is based on the aims and values in civic virtue education;moreover,it makes the best of the exiting and potential resources of etiquette school-based curriculum by selection,classification and integration.For the sake of rational exploitation and better efficiency of the etiquette school-based curriculum in primary school,this paper absorbs the outstanding theoretical and practical achievements and studies both at home and abroad.The author produces ideas and devises methods for the development of the etiquette school-based curriculum,including objective integrating strategy,resource developing and integrating strategy,process planning strategy,responsibility sharing strategy and effectiveness evaluating and introspective strategy,on the basis of investigation and survey on the present situation of the pupils’ civic virtue and the analysis of causes.In addition,the paper analyses the effectiveness and experience of N primary school comprehensively and further puts forward the promoting aims and development direction.Full exploitation of the etiquette school-based curriculum has multiple benefits,not only excavating large amounts of etiquette educational resources which benefit teachers and students,but also calling all possible forces from society,families and schools into action in order to bring better education through scientific management,efficient supervision and multiple evaluation.Last but not least,it is a good way not only for the cultural heritage and development of etiquette but also for the innovation of etiquette education,which should arouse attention from all the educators. |
