It’s been ten years since the new curriculum revolution had been carried out in2003and the new standard textbook in Chinese curriculum of ordinary high school had been put into use. With10years as a reincarnation, high school Chinese textbooks (compulsory course) made by the People’s Education Press and Guangdong Education Press have developed into Stereotyped. Currently, the most important task is to make improvement on these two editions. This paper conducts overall analysis on compulsory textbooks on High School Chinese course edited respectively by the People’s Education and the Guangdong Education Press. Starting from the three aspects of composing idea, content structure and the texts selecting system, the paper compares analyses and summarizes on the results, and puts related suggestions on improvement. Finally, the paper leads to other aspects of re-considering on the compiling and using of the other compulsory textbooks of High School Chinese course.The first chapter describes the basic theory of compulsory high school Chinese textbook composition. Firstly it’s to clarify the concept of Chinese textbook and to introduce features of the books so as to relay the recommendations for presentation materials in New High School Curriculum Standards. Secondly it’s to introduce the Constructivism,"Discovery learning","Zone of proximal development" and the theory of multiple intelligences, which therefore to provide theoretical support for the parts below.In the second chapter, the paper uses the forms and data analysis to compare the compiling idea, content structure and selection system of the two editions of the high school Chinese compulsory textbooks, searches from macro to micro and from abstract to concretization. When comparing the compiling idea, the parper starts from summarizing the composition concept of the two editions, and then sorts out their different and common points. As to comparison of the content structure, it inclundes the four main parts of unit arrangement, communication of expression, combing of knowledge and recommendation of masterpieces; and in comparison of selecting system, it conducts analysis on the basis of three aspects:amount, times (in the past and at present, from domestic to international) as well as article type.The third chapter presents recommendations for improvement of two editions of textbooks. Based on the comparison results of last paragraph, the paper suggests that books produced by Guangdong Education Press should improve the quality of the selected articles, focus on writing training gradient and reduce the difficulty of activities in the textbooks. And the PEP version, on the contrary, will have to add the spirit of the times, strengthen stimulated interest, and combine the writing training with oral communication training.The fourth chapter focuses on the consideration of the composition and use of all High School textbooks on compulsory Chinese courses. To textbook editors, they should study High School Curriculum Standards carefully, keep up with the times, and timely pay attention to the results of the use of textbooks. As user of the textbooks, schools should organize regular research on the teaching materials and compilation school curriculum. Meanwhile, teachers will have to establish a correct view on themselves and students as well as on Chinese textbooks; and to develop the habit of studying Chinese textbooks.
