The development and status among all the overseas Chinese educations, Chinese Education in Malaysia is undoubtedly preserve the Chinese education system, one of the best in the tradition of Chinese culture, they also ranking among the highest in Southeast Asia.However, outsiders seemingly booming Chinese Education in Malaysia, under the guidance of the unit the educational philosophy of the racial policies of the Government of Malaysia, all kinds of unequal education policy so that this piece of land on the Chinese-language education in the mother tongue defenders along the way hard difficult, through the clutter.Chinese Independent School is the most representative in Malaysia Chinese Education. In a large number of Independent Schools, Foon Yew High School, which is the one if the best in Southern Johor Bahru, as it is all of Malaysia’s largest number of Chinese Independent Secondary schools are excellent in many areas, Malaysia between defending the mother tongue as the medium of instruction Independent Chinese Secondary School.The Government of Malaysia on marginalized in the Independent education policy, the development of the Malaysian Chinese Independent was being low tide but countercurrent better and better, which is caused by the author’s interest in want to continue to explore:why the students willing to study in Chinese Independent Secondary School——Foon Yew High School, and what is the factors and causes behind their choosing reason?On behalf of this research, go through by questionnaire, interviews, and historical research, we can get the conclusion as the main three factors for the choosing reasons. First, those Chinese students was willing to studying at the Foon Yew High school, the main reason is the love of the mother-tongue education, the mother tongue as the medium of instruction for courses. Second, extracurricular activities pluralism and diversity, tradition and dissemination of youthful campus culture are the unique in Foon Yew High School.Third, the intimate relationship between Foon Yew’s teachers and students is the most important of the learning progress. These three factors was building students choose to study in Foon Yew High School, and these were also the factors of creating the brilliant and unique in Foon Yew.In addition, mostly of the Malaysian Chinese ancestors was immigrants from China, so Chinese education in Malaysia therefore be a better preserved, is inseparable from the Chinese for their own sense of national identity, no matter how many generations continue to, which shares the national strength has been the driving force behind the Malaysian Chinese on their own "root" of the quest, the insistence on traditional Chinese culture, it was reflected in the mother-tongue education of Malaysian for their perseverance.Although the Independent School in Malaysia was ranking among in China South East Asia, but it was suppression by the ethnic education policy of the government. They reject and do not recognize the Unified Examination Certificate of Chinese Independent School. But, Chinese Independent School did so well that the result of its Unified Examination Certificate were recognized by the hundreds of private colleges and universities oversea.Besides that, the government of Malaysia they do not given any allowance to Independent for the training of professional teachers. The quality of teachers and the lack of specialized training relative spoon-fed the examination-oriented education will result in a student’s future career and further education the future is uncertain, as well as enhance their own quality, thereby affecting the students’ choosing reason.Finally, I will maintain with an optimistic attitude for the future of the Chinese Independent School in Malaysia. And that the passage of time will make Chinese Independent School will getting better and better.With the rising of China, promote diversification trend in the world, the Chinese Independent School quality by various reasons such as external certainly, I maintain confidence in the key.
