The Measurement And Influencing Factors Of The Social Integration Level Of The Second-Generation Floating Population ——Based On CMDS Database

Since the reform and opening up,a large number of surplus rural labor entered cities and became the first generation of floating population.As time goes on,the children of floating population growing in cities begin to migrate and become the second-generation of floating population.At present,the second-generation floating population has become an important part of China’s floating population.Improving the social integration degree of the second-generation floating population plays an important role in improving the quality of China’s new urbanization and promoting economic development and social stability.Based on the systematic review and relevant research results at home and abroad,This paper clarified the internal mechanism of the social integration of floating population,constructs an index system to measure the social integration level of floating population from four dimensions:economy,culture,psychology and behavior;Compares and analyzes the specific differences between the first and secondgenerations of floating population in social integration level using the data of China’s floating population survey in 2017.At the same time,the benchmark regression model is used to empirically analyze the influencing factors of the social integration level of the second-generation of floating population,and the specific influence of the parents’floating experience on the social integration level of the second-generation of floating population is discussed through the mediation effect test.The study shows that compared with the first generation of floating population,the second-generation floating population has a lower degree of social integration in both the overall level and the sub-dimension level.Education level,marital status,employment status and urban household registration of the second-generation floating population can significantly affect the social integration of floating population;The floating experience of parents has a great influence on the social integration of the second-generation of floating population by influencing their residence and settlement intention.Therefore,to improve the social integration level of the second-generation of floating population,we must increase education input and skill training,and enhance the human capital of the second-generation of floating population;Lower the threshold of family migration,improve the urban identity of the second-generation of floating population;Accelerate the reform of the household registration system to eliminate the psychological barriers of the second-generation of floating population;Promote social participation and enhance the sense of community belonging of the second-generation floating population;We will strengthen employment support and ensure a reasonable working environment and wage income for the second-generation of floating population.
