With the development of network and information technology and its increasing application in the field ofeducation, digitalization of teaching carriers, diversification of teaching methods and ubiquity of learningcontent have become inevitable trends of education development. The social network with its characteristics offreedom, openness and share provides students with an ideal informal learning environment where they canhave free communication, self evaluation, self reflection, independent collaboration and resource sharing.This research with the theme of "informal learning strategy of middle school students under the socialnetwork environment” involves action research and questionnaire survey on the basis of Chinese teaching injunior middle school and explores how to effectively guide and promote informal learning of middle schoolstudents in a social network environment.This study is divided into six parts:The first part, on the basis of analyzing the documentation, expounds the current research home andabroad, determining the research ideas and methods.The second part defines “the social network”,“informal learning” and other related conceptions,elaborates their meanings and characteristics and determines the theoretical basis of this study.The third part determines the research object, research contents and makes the research plan. At the stageof research preparation, the author prepares and carries out a survey about middle school students in the socialsoftware applications and based on the analysis of the results, uses a QQ group and personal QQ spaces ofstudents as a platform to exchange informal learning achievements and creates a "happy learning" QQ group.The fourth part is about the preparation and conduct of the research. First of all, the author prepares andcarries out a survey on social software applications by middle school students and based on the analysis of theresults, uses a QQ group and personal QQ spaces as a platform to exchange informal learning achievementsand creates a "happy learning" QQ group. Then the author conducts three rounds of action research, eachround of which includes plans, action, observation and reflection, and by the questionnaire survey, individualinterview and content analysis, observes, analyzes and reflects on informal learning of middle school studentsin a network environment to lay the foundation for latter research in the next round of action. On the basis of practical research, the fifth part sums up the strategies and measures to promote theinformal learning of middle school students in the network environment.The sixth part analyzes the deficiencies in this research and predicts the direction of future research.
