From the year of2001, primary schools began to take English classes, but at thesame time, the problems about transition of English Teaching between primary andjunior middle schools in rural areas came out. So how to find out reasons of theproblems, how to make effective measurements, how to avoid repetitions andseparation of English learning and how to optimize the transition are focused byschools and the society.Many researches mostly focus on achievement difference between primary andjunior middle school students due to factors of teachers, lessons, curriculum activities,make analysis and put forward relevant measures. Howe ver, the effectiveness closelycombing the education environment is so insufficient.This research tries to investigate in the rural areas of Qingzhou City, where I work,under the guidance of the theory of cognitive development and the theory of multipleintelligence, through the questionnaire survey, classroom observations and interviews,get much real data, and conclude various factors which influence the transition ofEnglish teaching and learning between primary and junior middle school, such aslarge span of English Curriculum Standard and teaching materials, large differences ofteaching mode, ignoring students’ ability to adapt, monotonous teaching evaluationand the quo of English teaching in Qingzhou city. Based on these analyses, thisresearch will put forward countermeasures on teachers, students, teaching contentsand teaching methodologies. At the same time, this article advocates theimplementation of these measures, in order to alleviate the problem about transition ofEnglish teaching and learning between primary and middle school in rural areas.This thesis consists of six chapters as follows.Chapter one is the introduction. It describes what is the research question and alsoresearch purpose, research significance, research contents and research technique.Chapter two is about the theory basis, such as Constructivism theory, and the theoryof multiple intelligence and the research status. Chapter three is about definitions of related concepts, such as transition,teaching transition and primaryand junior middle school.Chapter four is the Analysis of Survey Results. It clarifies the research objective,the respondents, and the research contents. In this chapter, the writer analyze the datafrom the questionnaire survey, classroom observations and interviews.Chapter five is the research report on the transition of English teaching and learningin the rural areas of Qingzhou City.Chapter six is the countermeasures based on the investigationThe last part is conclusion. In this part, the author first points out the reality oftransition of English teaching and learning between primary and middle school, andthen advocates the developing trend, and at last shows the deficiency of this study.
